Holiday fun with essential oils creates a special hand made gift for your loved ones that is both unique and helps them to take time for themselves for self care. Something that we all so very much need all year round, but in particular in the cold months of winter!
Mix a Mantra in
While you are preparing these recipes become aware of the energy you are putting into them. It has been shown that no two scents will have the same smell when prepared by two different people. This is because your essence is also imparted into each creation you make altering the makeup of the final product. You can increase the positive energy in your creations by chanting a mantra or saying positive affirmations as you work.
Some that we (my kids and I) like to use are:
Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu which translates to
“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.”
Peace, Love, Hope and Joy
Let it be
All is love
Creatures great and small the Divine in me loves them all
Life, Love and Happiness

RECIPES
Dead Sea Bath Salts
Fill 1oz to 4oz container with 1 tsp oil, add your essential oils up to 6 drops per, mix. Add enough dead sea salt to fill the container and allow room to stir and mix the essential oils in. Gift wrap your container.
A shaker container is nice for this, a mason jar with a lid that has holes. This way your recipient can simply shake the bath salts into their tub. Otherwise, provide a small scoop, about 1T size is sufficient.
Dead Sea Salt Hand/Body Scrub
Using a 1 oz to 6oz container, add essential oils to your container, 6 to 10 drops. Fill container ⅓ full with grapeseed oil, sunflower oil, or almond oil or a combination. Add enough dead sea salt to fill the container the half way. Mix gently. Check to see how the mixture feels, is it too dry? Add enough carrier oil to create a consistency that feels good in the hands.
To use: Use a small amount to rub onto hands or elbows, feet etc. Avoid the face. This will exfoliate the skin and nourish it with the oils. Rinse off after 30 seconds of rubbing and pat dry. It is best to apply a good lotion afterwards to seal in the goodness!
**Try a sugar scrub by subbing dead sea salt with organic sugar!
Facial Mask
Fill your 1oz to 4oz container with 1 tsp carrier oil, such as grapeseed oil, and up to 6 drops essential oils, add one packet of tea to this, green tea has great properties for the skin, but any tea will help to improve skin clarity and tighten skin. Mix. Add enough kaolin clay to fill container almost to the top, allowing room to mix.
To use:
Take a tsp amount of the powder and add enough water to create a paste, apply to a clean face and allow to sit for 10 to 15 minutes. Then rinse off and follow with your usual moisturizer.
Roll Ons
For a 10ml roll on, add up to 6 drops of essential oils, blends are easiest to avoid adding too much of one oil, then fill the container with carrier oil such as grapeseed oil. Gently shake.
To Use: Simply roll on to wrists, behind ears, or other pulse points on the body!

Beard Oil
5-10 drops peppermint
5-10 drops tea tree
12 oz good quality dead sea salts
For best results apply to beard nightly before bed and allow to soak in overnight. Alternatively apply during shower and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. As an alternative try using 1/3 coconut oil and 2/3 grapeseed oil. The thicker consistency will grip your mustache and beard and allow it to penetrate longer and deeper into the hair.
Grapeseed oil is the workhorse in this combination, the essential oils add some benefits but are mainly used to scent. Substitute with your favorite oil or combination of oils up to 20 drops. Coconut oil has many benefits and is very helpful conditioning the hair.
Hot Yoga Cooling Mist
4 oz bottle with 1/3 filled distilled water and 2/3 filled with witch hazel
20 drops peppermint oil
10 drops lavender oil
Mix well and shake before each use. Spritz on face and body during hot yoga or other exercise.
